Explorer 5.0 no harness or ecm

I don’t have any smog test so that’s not an issue for me. I looked into the wild horses 5.0 harness but wasn’t sure if it worked with the explorer sensors and mustang ecm? There are a couple mustang computers near me not too crazy priced and then there are some late foxbody harnesses for cheap...

Explorer 5.0 no harness or ecm

Looking for some help swapping in an explorer 5.0 in my bronco. I recently was able to get a 99 5.0 but without a computer and a cut up wiring harness. I plan on tearing the engine apart and rebuilding it, but now I’m looking for what I need to make the efi work. An Explorer 5.0 engine harness...

    Speedometer abnormality?

No I’m all good lol, just installed my painless harness with the dash in so I was used to being under there. Guess it’s time for a new speedometer head.

    Speedometer abnormality?

Well, gave that a shot but still the same results or if I loosened it too much I got no reading at all.

    Speedometer abnormality?

I’ll loosen it a little and see what happens, I noticed when comparing my old speedo to the new one with the drill test that the new one needed a faster speed on the drill to start reading. It works fine and doesn’t bounce but like I said just doesn’t read right away.

    Speedometer abnormality?

Only really tested it once. I used a gps app on my phone which has been pretty accurate. I thought my Speedo wasn’t working because I couldn’t get it to move at slow speeds. I know have a 7 tooth drive gear as I’ve got a np205 t case. My tires are also rated 33 inches on the sidewall.

    Speedometer abnormality?

Just want to know if this is normal, my speedometer is off across the board it seems by 10 mph. When I’m going 10 on my Speedo I’m actually going 20, 5 mph is 15, 20 is 30. I didn’t go much faster than that so I’m not sure about faster speeds, it’s a rebuilt gauge cluster and I just got my...

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

Got a new cable and now everything is working, my Speedo is off by 10 mph(10 on speedo is actually 20 gps) but I solved the bigger issue. Guess I just got unlucky with cable lengths.

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

So would that mean my speedometer head could be damaged now? I haven't really put to much on it only moved it about 20 feet. And is this a common occurrence? Hopefully I wont be going through so many cables.

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

The clip was quite a bit a way, cut the cable down and it kind of spread out from itself. I tested it with the drill and seemed to work but after I installed it back into the truck I’ve got nothing. I’m gonna need a new cable now lol but hopefully that was my issue, definitely was too long.

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

Okay well I guess I’ll get another cable and see how that goes, I’m pretty confident the speedometer head is good because of the drill test I did before hand.

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

Sorry I should have added that I’m using a 4 speed and np205 transfer case out of a 78 Ford. The drive gear itself is the yellow/gold 18 teeth plastic gear.(I’ve seen it in bronco graveyard and npd). The cable is aftermarket from wild horses the extended cable. Does this require the full size...

    Speedometer drive gear problem?

I’ve recently installed a new (rebuilt) gauge cluster and speedo cable in my bronco due to my old cluster failing. I recently went to move the truck and letting off the clutch in first gear to an idle speed, my speedo needle went crazy and even started to get hung up on certain speeds.(30,50,70...

    Power steering problem

Finally got the new pressure relief valve in and now the pumps works great, I really appreciate all the help guys.

    Power steering problem

Should be behind the high pressure fitting where your high pressure line bolts into on the pump. Unbolt that and it should be behind there.

    Power steering problem

Well I ended up taking off the high pressure fitting and sure enough I did not have a pressure relief valve, so I’ll be getting one of those and I’ll let you know if it works. Thanks for everything so far hopefully this solves my problem.

    Power steering problem

The lines are in the correct spots, and I had popped the high pressure line off and it seemed to flow better than the return line did when I had it off. The lines are the same as before and they don’t seem to be plugged up. I still have no assist at all, the pump makes no noise but I’ve heard...

    Power steering problem

Well I’ve been at it for about 2 hours, no bubbles that I can see but still no power steering, is this a bad pump? Bad box?

    Power steering problem

I did have a small leak on the return line earlier in the week, tightened it down and no more leak, since then I’m not sure how much I turned it but I’ll get back to it after work. And should I have the engine on or off while I bleed the system? I’ve read both and I’m not sure what’s the correct...

    Power steering problem

So I’ve been fighting with my power steering for about 2 and half weeks now. I have looked up and researched all different ways to bleed it and still nothing. My issue is the lack of any power steering, I get no assist when I steer the wheel. I had bought a brand new Saginaw pump from BC Broncos...
