This was a fun / awful project. 77 gas filler necks. I went through 2 of each to get ones that weren't rusty or too pitted. Zinc plated then clear coated. The stupid rubber grommet is the worst. If anyone has ever pulled a 77 apart will know my pain.

Ever had one of those projects you would have guessed would take 1 hour max and then end up being 2 trips to the store and half of a Sunday. That's my gas tanks. Frick they sucked. Oh well.

Thanks! I am still having fun, which is all that really matters. My goal is for it to last another 40 years and look good doing it:)

Since I am re spraying my bronco, I can't finish the wiring. I put this steel bar on to hopefully get the engine bay 100% done, rear and also transmission controller, amps etc... I can just zip tie the harness to it, so it's in the same basic spot.

That's a shame to cover up that beautiful satin finish, but I understand your pain.

Stereo is alive and rocking. 8" JL sub sounds great. Not really bass but nice full clean sound. Wiring is clean but boy is everything tight. I really like the access this location gives me to the amp.

I've been wiring for like the past week, so nothing fun to post. But I'm getting closer to starting it!

I built a ground strap to the frame out of left over tinned copper wet wire. It's amazing how dirty my bronco gets just sitting in my garage.

Well two steps forward and one step back. I had my shock mounts mounted wrong originally. I gave up trying to find a crazy short shock to fit and cut off and tig welded on ruff stuff mounts. Gone is my perfectly powder coated axles:( Oh well, I am glad we did it.

Now to paint it and match as best as possible.

Wow, I have some talented friends. My core came with radiator brackets that were off by around a 1/2 inch. I attempted to just weld and fix the stainless ones, but they have always bugged me, and I really didn't want to take apart my front end to grind, weld and paint again. So they are going to mill these out of aluminum. Super cool 3D print to test. Just a little more fitment and they will be perfect.

How far off are yours?

I was able to force the stock mounts on but the radiator doesn't fully seat and I was never happy with it. I just haven't spent time on it given other priorities like getting my new engine installed. :)

Well, new shock mounts work and look great. Lots of travel now. I am hoping for 6.5" up and 4.5-5.5 down.

Now these I'm excited about.

All billet. Centers were turned on a lathe. I think they look mostly stock with an upgrade.
