Well, after picking away at smaller projects for the last few years, finally found a local guy to do body work. Took the tub to the blaster and found more issues as expected. Tom's got a good bit of my $$$. New Door Pillars front/rear, rear quarters, new rear wheel wells, rockers (only outers), fender skirts, kick panels. All new weather stripping.

Front and rear axles have been cleaned to bare metal and painted. All new drums on the back and already had disc up front.

Had already brought frame down to bare metal and finished with KBS chassis coating.

Picked up a new stock suspension as well.

The body guy has the frame as he is trying to properly line up body panels. Once I get frame back I will put together drivetrain.

Progress, but still difficult to see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Small crack in hood had a surprise hiding behind it. Got after with a wire wheel. Pretty much the whole front edge is rusted out. Rest of the hood is in good condition. Trying to determine if it is worth fixing or to get a new one. All that I have found on craigslist need work. New one is about $320. Body guy is charging about $50 an hour for labor.

Also got my axles cleaned up and new suspension laid out, ready for reassembly. I gave the frame to body guy while he replaces door post and other body panels so that it lines up right. Hope to get it back soon so I can the rolling chassis done.

I'm the kinda guy that likes to fix rust issues if possible but I say that you are in the "need a new hood category."

More progress on body. Driver's side is done, door gaps are good. Right side getting worked on now. Still need a hood and tailgate, no luck on CL yet. Once all of the panels are on the tub, I will take the frame back from body guy and put together the rolling chassis.

Progress on body work. Most panel replacement/repair has been done. I replaced more than I thought I would. After having it blasted it just seemed like a better idea to replace as opposed to repair. To primer soon. Looking at Arcadia Blue for the final color. Damn IPhone photos. Looked to be proper orientation in Picasa.

Edit your photos to "Square" option and then press "Done". I have found that if I edited my pics on my iPhone/ iPad they come out "normal". Good luck!

Still plugging along. The light at the end of the tunnel flickers now. Body is at shop, most of the metal work is done. Paint color has been decided. Skylight Blue. See photo. Body guy is waiting on me to get engine, tranny and t-case in so he can take frame and do final fitting prior to paint. Every piece is being busted down to bare metal and painted or replaced. Taking this thing apart was a hell of lot easier than putting it together. Although I have kept everything, it seems like I am short on parts. Will need some help to do it right.

Progress

Progress continues, although slow. Engine and transmission are now in frame. Just got the power steering and power brake setup from Tom's. Suspension is stock Tom's setup. Fitech on the way. Body is at my body guys shop, waiting on frame. Should finish up all of the running gear in the next few weeks and then off to the body shop.

Update July 2017

Another update. Chassis is just about ready to send back to body guy. Still have a few small items to install/attach (fuel sending unit, fuel line, belts, etc). Unless you can see something I am missing.

Body - All of the rust has been removed and replace with new metal. Body guy would like to have body back on frame for final fit and finish.

I have a FiTech system, Centech wiring, and power brake booster waiting for install once body is done.

Not sure why, but I felt compelled to clear coat the VIN on the frame.

I think I can actually see some light at the end of the tunnel.

Any feedback is appreciated.

Just went through this build thread, awesome job you're doing there Will. Just keep that momentum going because we all know what happens once it stops... Before you know it you'll have her on the road.

Paint....Finally

Finally got the chassis done and to the body shop. Got paint on the bottom side, putting the body on the chassis this week. Paint is Arcadian Blue (1966 Ford color). Progress.....
