Side note Nick Menudier told me about Rotobroach metal hole cutting bits. Left is a traditonal bit that was super sharp, right is the same size bit but a rotobroach. Wow what a difference.

If you can get to the back side, a knock out punch does a nice job of making a round hole. HF has a cheap set, but if you invest make sure they're sharp enough so they don't warp the sheet metal.

The Rotobroach hole looks nice. Do they come with pilot bits so they doesn't walk when starting the cut?

No pilot bit, you drill a 1/8 hole then the bits have a pointed end. Super clean. I will never use anything else.

Thanks for the tip on the bits. I use a rotobroach when cutting the vent holes in the dashes but never thought to see if they made smaller ones. Thank you for spending my money Duffy. LOL

Finally got my custom stainless 77 gas tank installed. Fits with about a 1/4” to spare. Should be about 23 gallons. 14 gauge and I used an fittings where I could. Doesn't hang down any further then my stock tank. It has a linear fuel level gauge.

Worked on something fun tonight. My spare tire license plate holder/led was a bad design. Rattles would have been terrible. So I welded a stainless nut on and make a T handle stainless bolt. Should work great. The little things are my favorite to figure out.

I am about to try my first set of the power step brackets from Nick. I like your idea on through bolting the lower bolt. To fit the pinch weld they are tight no matter what so I am thinking of drilling out the threads in the bracket and making it through bolt like your suggestion. I will let you know how everything lines up as soon as I get around to installing it.

Awesome, I know have giant holes in my drivers side pinch welds

I can cover 95% of all of them, but still beyond lame. What size bolt will you use? I didn't think of drilling out the threads. I got some ARP stainless bolts for mine.

Do you ha have pictures of the way you routed the wires for the steps. I decided not to drill holes on the pinch, I had the treads drilled on the step brackets and the holes on the bracket sealed and the threaded to accept the 10 mm bolt. so my bolts are installed from the back of the step brackets to Nicks bracket.
