Locking Hub Problem

Switched my front hubs to lock, went about 20' and it didn't sound good.
One Hub collar spins with the red dial . I removed the collar and found the
axle shaft "C" clip broken in 2. I removed the second ring to try and remove the unit but it isn't sliding off the shaft. I think the splines at the "C" clip
groove are dented , Any ideas how to remove or am I missing something

Is the hub collar, youre referring to, the chrome cap that the knob is in?
What is the second ring you removed?
Pics could help.

Hi
I removed the 5 hex heads the chome piece with the Knob in , the C clip on the shaft was broken in 2 , I then removed the large snap ring that i assume holds
the unit in the hub?

If there is any pressure on the splines they will not slide. If you have not already done so, jack the wheel up and relieve any pressure on the splines.
Next trick is to put the screws back into the hub so you have a handhold to pull the hub out.
As long as both snaprings are removed, the hub should come out.

:p :p :p I had this happen a long time ago stock hub. What I had to do was drill and tap the hub 1/4" take a pc. of 1/2 bar drill and make a puller it pulled off then I had to file the spline till it went on smooth as it was on the end of the axle it wasnt hard just a pain good luck.:D :D :D Bill %) ;D
