76 lubr - 2/22/18

Hi guys I am starting this build thread of my 76. Its been fun getting to the point Im at and making lots of progress. Its hasnt been a quick build but Im taking my time and learning at the same time. I would hope to have it done before next year. I went with a JD 5.5 Monster lift and had my 302 rebuilt and then installed an Edelbrock top end kit. Axles are next with full lockers and complete rebuild.

Some pics of the lift coming together. Installing shock hoops. Then ripping it all apart again ready to go to the blaster then powder coating. Finally my hands can stay clean after touching the frame.

Then this Memorial Day weekend I unwrapped the the motor from the plastic and started bolting on the heads and intake. Hope to get Bronco script valve covers and maybe headers this week. Then ordering axles and lockers so I can get this baby sitting on tires.

My only question would be the 5.5inch lift on a Luber being too much???

My Luber has 5.5 and I fit 33-12.50x15 on 7" rims w/ no problems, looks really great, keep the pics coming.

Been awhile since Ive updated but Im taking things slow to do it right. Ripped apart the axles and cleaned them out and did a drain mod on the 9in. Next week the axles will go to sand blast then powder coat. Big step next week is the body is going to the body shop. Im wanting to paint it all black including top and then silver door insert. Then tan seats and tan soft top for baking in this Texas heat. Im up for opinions on color so chime in if you feel.

Got some progress done this weekend. Made a moving stand for the frame so my body man can begin work on the body and making sure its straight. Made a huge order to TBP ordering new body panels and all new floor and many other things. Hopefully I will have a brand new EB body within the next month or two. Ill take plenty of pics on progress.

Im gonna run the mickey thompson classic locks with black rings in 15 inch and a 33 icnh tire. Not sure but Im eyeing the Toyo Open country MT. I wish Nitto would make the Trail Grappler in a 15 inch rim or I would be going with those.
