Folks, I would like to setup the TV pressure corectly. I would also like to avoid spending $50-60 for the tool but I can not get an accurate answer on the thickness of the tool at the point it makes contact with the cable end and the adjuster. I've read anywhere from .275 to .317. Please chime in, what is the true dimension of the tool? I can easily make a tool and insert over the cable once I know the dimension.

Thanks

tighten the cable to the point it has no slack. That is your starting point- drive it. Tightening will raise the pressure, hold shifts slightly longer and firm up the shifts slightly. Extremely minor adjustments make a huge difference. You wont need to move it much

The tool that comes with the Lokar AOD TV cable is .275 and if you called and asked them I bet they would even send you the set up instructions.

yep take up slack, adjust .275 from there, road test it should down shift when doing 45 mph in D not OD. if it does not readjust tighter in small increments until it does. u could always get it close and take it to a shop and have the pressures checked if ur not sure.
$50-60 is cheep either for the tool or a shop adjustment compared to burning up the tranny.

Perfect, I'll run with the .275. Thanks guys, I'll do my road test in the AM. I already have the gauge installed so I just wanted to make sure I had the right dimension.
