75 Bronco Not Starting

Hey guys, first time posting, hoping to get some good advice on this one.

I bought and started driving my bronco back in April. Haven't had any troubles till this week. I noticed that the while driving, the engine started to sputter, almost as if not enough fuel is being delivered no matter how hard I stepped on the pedal, but eventually, with either hard pumps or constant stomping, it would correct itself and run normal.

This began about 7 days ago, but 4 days ago, I sputtered out and I could not start the engine again. It cranked, but would not spark. It always seemed to take a while to start if this matters.

Engine: 302, not the original, from the serial numbers indicate it is from 1980 year manufacture. edlbrock carb.

I decided to replace the plugs, wires, dizzy, and coil. I ended up taking the dizzy and coil back to AZ because the electrical connections did not match what I had, but I keep the Accel plugs and wires.

My question is, am I on the right track? Plus, what are the suggestions for new dizzy and coil? Is upgrading to an ignition control system the best idea?

Thanks!

Gene

Is your fuel filter clogged? Have you checked that you are getting fuel to the carb when you press the gas?

It may very well be an electrical starting/running issue, but I would check to make sure you have fuel and spark. When you say "it would not spark", what do you mean by that? Did you pull the plug out and ground it to the block or are you assuming you have no spark because it wouldn't fire?

Sorry, I can confirm that fuel is being delivered to the carb. I replaced to fuel filter about 3 months ago, and there is some sediment in the filter, but it is less than half a teaspoon approximately. Replacing the fuel tanks is on the list.

Should have said it won't fire.

I have more questions than answers.
The Dura spark is considered a very good setup. Have you checked that the distributor is turning while cranking. check that the timing marks line up and pointing to no 1. Have you checked your connections. Take them part and check. Ohm check your coil. Mainly check basics first.
