Ok, after 8 years in storage I just got my bronc going. I put new gas in it and go figure there is a leak at the fuel sending unit area. I got the repacement parts but do not know how to install them.

Please advise,

Loren

Stock. I just can't see how it comes off. There is some undercoating on the truck and maybe I just can't see what to push or pull on.

It's a turn lock type of retainer. I'm guessing it's the o-ring around it that's leaking?

It's a booger to get in just right. Took me 3 tries to get it right.

Make sure that both sealing surfaces are EXTREMELY clean before putting it all back together.

good luck.

On my '66 with stock steel tank the lock ring has tangs on it that you tap with a punch or S/S screwdriver (counter-clockwise) to remove...

Thanks for the help. Got the old one out and the new one in. Diddn't leak at all. I am now having fuel guage issues. I will figure that out at a latter date. It sometimes feels like I am working on a 37 year old rig.

While you had the fuel sending unit out you should have checked your floater. My had a crack that was almost invisible. Didnt notice it until I took it all the way out and heard the gas sloshing in it.

hind sight is 20/20. I did get the gauge to work after I ran wires from the AUX tank to the main but it stopped working. It was to late to mess with it. I thought this would work because I only pull fuel from the main tank and the aux tank has a pump to fill the main tank when it is empty. That is how I did the plumbing when the EFI was going in.
