Yes, thats duct tape holding a "ground wire" on for the dash light socket.

In his defense, that light was still working. Right up to the time the wire melted.

Mine had a bunch of Stroppe parts bolted on:(
That is a bad thing cause when I purchased it I could have pick up more parts and I threw away some and sold others pretty cheap.

My wiring was all jacked up when I bought it. There was a toggle switch with a button, that for the life of me I couldn't find where it went, and everything else was pretty hacked up. But there was also a fishing pole, tape measure, various sockets, a craftsman 1/4" drive, some screw drivers, and other odds and ends.

You guys will love this one

When a previous owner did a tie rod over conversion, instead of just reaming the knuckles thay did this. Cut the knuckles off welded them to the oposite side.

I just noticed it the other day while I was cleaning and painting under the truck. Well looks like time to get some new knuckles

mine has sustom skid plates made of 1/4" thick steel diamond plate for the t case and rear tank, custom dual shock mounts all the way around, aluminum panels were the glove box and ash tray used to be, custom 3rd gas tank, and a switch on the core support with no wires attached anymore, no to mention the rear bumper you can ride a skateboeard on.

If I were into disney collectables I would be in luck. All the mods I found on my 72(1st) bronco were mickey mouse.Had better luck with the wifes 66. Closer to stock except for some ###$%^& rancho parts that are going away soon.

I had some soggy indoor carpet glued down to the floor, roof, everything and a condom that expired about 10 years ago in the glove box.

Everybody needs a 2x4 somewhere in their bronco;D  :p

I think the favorite thing I found in mine was a large clump of dirt in the rear corner that he left in and covered in "DIY" bedliner.

Donsbolt - WOW, that is unbelievable!

I've had quite a few treasures. One of my favorites:

PO put on a brand new 3 1/2" JD suspension lift on the Bronco. One of the rear shock mounts was stripped. So, instead of fixing the mount, he just slapped the new shock on and fastened it in placing with a large amount of bailing wire.

Back when I first bought my 76, it came with a fiberglass half cab on it, with no weatherstripping.

The top, and the bulkhead were sealed in place with clear silicone caulk. I'd bet that there has to be 3 or 4 tubes worth of it. I spent an entire weekend scraping off the silicone to put the wagon top on it.

My Bronc was caught in a flood a few years before I bought it, so everything was full of silt. The rockers, frame, cowl, floors and more. I bet it took me 3 or 4 years to get it all out.

My wife's rig is kind of funny. The rockers rotted out, so one of the PO's welded in some 16ga c channel in place so that there isn't a void where the rockers were. The DIY bedliner flame job could have been cool, but wasn't finished, and my wife isn't too hip with it, so it goes. I have learned that paint stripper takes it right off though.

Other than the normal spare change/parts/tools that you always find in a vehicle, not much weird stuff in either of mine.

Mine had a "custom made" trailor hitch. Most of it was fine for some light duty towing. Some decent 1/4 inch plate welded at a right angle. Half went behind the bumper and used the bumper bolts to hold it on the other half stuck out the bottom and had a toung welded on. The best part was you could see where they had welded up some reinforcement. It was a 3 inch wide 1/4 inch or more thick peice of stock welded from the back of the hitch to the top of the rear axle housing. That first ride must have been interesting to say the least. Don't think the rear end had much travel after that.
The next one is my pitman arm. It's two peices of 1/2 inch steel welded together with a slight twist, with the insides of two pitman arms welded in so the PS box and drag link would fit in. I still am using it because I can't find a pitman arm that has the right ends on both sides. If anyone has a better solution let me know...It's held up fine for about 10 years but I inspect it every time I drive it.

PO on mine used a BFH to smash the rear frame rails down to fit a piece of C-channel over both then welded it all in place for a rear bumper. Then took some not so straight flat stock bent it in a U shape and bolted a trailer hitch to that, also welded to the new bumper. I had to cut it all off and weld some 2x2 tubing in there to be able to have a good anchor for my bumper. Works good, is real stout, but looks like crap if I ever take the bumper off.

I had the Black and Orange arrow detail signs for floor boards. Very nicely riveted and seamsealed into place I might add. Should have left them there..sturdier and rust proof!! ;D
