The frame mounted "L" brackets that support the C4 transmission's cross member are slightly different dimensions. I didn't take note when I removed them. On the top, one is 2 1/2" wide, narrowing to 2". The other is 2 1/2 inches wide the whole length of the top portion that supports the cross member. The dimensions of the engine motor mounts in relation to the frame are different so I'm guessing the trans. supports may be side specific as well. Anyone in the know? Thanks

All of mine and others are the same. No difference side to side.

Same crossmember. But it is directional. You have to pay attention, but there is a left and a right to it. Won't work if you spin it around.

It goes like this. The holes for the mounts are towards the passenger side with the little snubber rubber towards the rear. If you don't have that there is hole there where it mounts. Shouldn't matter but this is exactly what you asked about, 73 with a C4.

I could see how the off set of the cross member went. I was trying to figure out why one of the "L" brackets, if not factory, has been cut tapered. I'm guessing it might have been cut to install the trans. or transfer case easier in the Bronco's past, provide access to the transfer case linkage, maybe make more room for exhaust? I'm getting close to reinstalling my 302, C4 and transfer case so I'm looking for the easiest way to get it all back in there. Thanks
