69 302 engine color? Sport model

I am restoring a 69 Sport model with original 302.
My engine builder painted it the Darker Blue color and I think it may should be the lighter/brighter Ford blue?
I have the engine out and can repaint but want to make sure first.
The pics I have seen have shown both.

Looking for button to post pic of my engine but can’t find it.

My 69 Bronco had the dark blue paint when I took it apart.

For best results, paint each part first then assemble the engine.

Leave it the dark blue your builder painted it, that's correct. Here's a line from Mustang Monthly (and Bronco would be the same color) -"Whether your '69 engine is a Boss 429 or a short-stroke six, it has to be Ford Corporate Blue in color."

Yes. 'Dark Ford Blue' is the correct color.

My 71 was originally painted ( Old Ford Blue ) DE1621 Dupli Color.
D20 was Ford Dark Blue.
