I have bought 10 of them. Never paid over a grand for one, except in 1983 when prices started to rise. I paid 2500.00 then. Back in the early 80's they were nothing more than a used car. You are right, times have changed.

I paid 2500 bucks for my Bronco.......one year ago. Maybe I got a good deal.
It didnt look like that though right?
For what ICON sells the finished product for, is it really breaking his margin buying cut broncos and redoing the quarters?
You wouldn't think so but I dont think he has ever used a cut body to build one. This says he is going to start using Dynacorn reproductions soon

and this

To build an Icon Bronco, Ward, who looks better without the teased hair and upturned collar, starts with a clean original that hasn’t had its rear wheel wells cut open to fit larger tires (a common butchery). “We’re at the point now,” Ward says, “where we only look for Broncos wearing original paint. The repainted ones have too many hidden surprises. I don’t want the bother of fixing other people’s mistakes.”

It pretty much looked exactly like that when I bought it. I changed the suspension, put a new carb on it, new tires, wiring harness, and a did a lot of nickel and dime stuff to it.
