I am swapping from 3.50 gearing to 4.11 and have access to a 79 f150 open carrier. I will be installing ring and pinion with new bearings but need to know if this carrier will work in my 75 bronco Dana 44 axle. I also have a Spartan locker I will be installing at the same time. Will this carrier work for my application?

Most of the '79 F150 trucks came with 3.54 gearsets up front, so odds are it will not work with the 4.11's you're planning unless you run a thick gearset or ring gear spacer to make it work.

Just keep your 3.50 carrier and buy thick cut gears, I bought my thick cut gears from Randy's ring an pinion. saves a chunk of change.

Thanks for the replys.

The carrier is for the numerically higher gear sets. Already have standard cut gear set and getting a good price on this Dana Spicer carrier.

Most of the Dana 44 fronts in the '77-'79 trucks and the '78-'79 Broncos are 'high pinion' and the ring and pinion are 'reverse cut ' and will not work in the early Bronco 'low pinion' Dana 44. I didn't read your question correctly... You are asking about just the carrier... Sorry..
