Long time stalker of several build threads, time to start my own thread to thank everyone that has unknowingly inspired me and helped me and to maybe give back others.
This is my first build, it is a 66 U14. Plan includes:
- Coyote / 5 Speed Manual / Atlas Twin Stick
- Upgrade to a Currie custom F9 Rear and a TBP D44 Mag Front
- Wilwood Disc Brakes
- 3.5” SL, 2” BL
- Bilstein Shocks
- Convert to a full top
- Other goodies as we go (Dakota Digital, Audio System, etc.)
Work done so far:
- Stripped everything down to the frame
- Bagged and tagged all of the parts
- Welded in new motor mounts (previously a 6 Cyl), front shock hoops, rear inboard shock hoop, drop track bar bracket, TBP's extended radius arm brackets, and lower part of both rear bumper horns
- Had the Frame media blasted
- Painted the frame with KBS Rust Seal and Blacktop
No forecast on when I hope to finish it, but thinking at least 1.5 – 2 years is a good conservative time frame.
