I was driving in traffic and the temp was up about 3/4 then traffic cleared I was driving 60 on the interstate for about 5 minutes and then the truck just turned off. I pulled over to the side and it won't start. I let it cool down still won't start turns over but nothing else. Any help on where I should start would be appreciated. I've checked to make sure none of the wires or vacuum lines came off.
Thanks, Hall

Last time that happened to me, the power supply to the coil had shook loose...
Check to see if you're getting fuel to the carb and spark to the plugs...

Are you sure that the gas gauge is working, and that you have pleanty of gas?

Do you have fuel getting up to the carb?

First, find out what is happening. since you are cranking the engine, I assume that it is cranking OK, not real slow or anything. That leaves us with either no spark or no fuel. Both are easy to check.

Pull the coil wire off the distributor, position it near, but not touching ground. Crank the engine and check for spark. If it is fairly quiet and by yourself, you can often just listen for the spark.

Remove the air cleaner lid, pump the throttle, you should see the accelerator pump shooting fuel in, that will be enough to start an engine.

If you have both of those, then a more detailed investigation is needed, but I feel that your problem is in one of these 2 areas.

Well I was getting no fuel to the carb, so I just got a new fuel pump going to put it on tommorow and hopefully she fires right up.
Thanks

Could be the pump....but the last time that happened to me, it was a clogged strainer in the tank...did you check the filter??
