How to plug the emissions hole in back of a 351w head.

What is the correct way to plug the emissions hole in the back of a 351W head? Mine currently has a bolt screwed in an oversized washer with a small plate behind it. I cant believe it is sealing anything.

That’s the way I did mine years ago. A little high temp gasket sealer just to make sure. Not much pressure.

These would’ve come in the front holes of any 5.0L or 5.8L. Just need a big slotted screw driver to get them out. Check your local engine rebuilders or wrecking yard.

Ford might still sell them, or any online shop that sells Ford products... CJ Pony or LMR maybe.

It is amazingly loud when you run the engine without the thermactor or plugs in these holes! The plugs oldtimer recommended do it.
