Inner Rocker VS Floor Pan

getting ready to install new inner drivers rocker and floor pans. Question is' the inner-rocker has 1 inch lip bent in towards center of vehicle. Does floor pan tuck under it and weld it like that or does floor pan just sit on top and weld it to the top of rocker panel angle?
I have seen it done both ways on this site.

Thanks

floor under rocker lip
Agree I took apart and original rocker floor and floor was under. Use sheetmetal screws to pull floor up to rocker and make sure you get good penetration when plug welding floor to rocker flange.

That's what I expected. , So when installing new inner rocker should not lay/butt overlap sitting on floor Braces. leave a 1/8 gap to slid floors under.

Thanks for the replies

You can use a small piece of the same gauge sheet metal and put between brace and inner rocker for an accurate shim. Ken
