Location of Blower Motor Resistor?

Hi,

My bronco only has the high speed fan, I assume it is a wiring issue as it appears the resistor is bypassed. I haven't taken out the heater box yet and thought I would ask first. Feels like the wiring from the motor goes right to the switch on the dash.

Where is the blower motor resistor located?

It's on the back side of the plug panel on the housing

Does it look like my housing is set up differently - wires go right from switch on the dash to the blower motor?

Sorry I posted the wrong picture. Follow the two leads around to the housing and you should find it. Your wiring may be bypassing the speed control resistor therefore only one speed

It is on the back side of the housing, left of where the motor is. The pic I have has it out, but you can see where it goes in relation to the levers on the back side.

Thank you all so much! I felt around with my hand and couldn't locate the prongs. There is definitely no wire going back behind the heater box. I may have to remove it to check it out and get this thing operating properly.

Might as well check the switch with an ohm meter too while you are at it.
Could have been bypassed because they had an old motor that only worked on high speed, or the resistor failed, or maybe even the switch failed.
No telling really, why somebody would do that.
