Rcm I’m interested in your thoughts on your various motor/transmission combos. Pros/cons, noticeable performance differences, ect. Thanks

The first 351W had stock Mustang EFI and a BC Broncos adapter for the intake. Stock engine. Ran good but at about 4000 rpm completely ran out of air. The next engine was the 427. Very well built, little too high rpm but great power. Then the 408W actually probably made as much if not a bit more power as the cam and intake set up and tune was a bit better. More low end with a custom cam grind. I was having fun building the engines and then starting over. I never seem to keep my truck the same long. Then I thought the Coyote and 6R80 would be cool. The other engines had 4R70W trans. The Coyote actually in my opinion has the most response and pulls harder through the complete rpm range. I think variable cam timing and variable intake helps alot. I really like the Coyote. A little complicated to put in but not terrible. It is big and takes up room. If I ever need more power really the only good solution is a super charger or turbos. I dont think it really will be needed for me.

Overall the Windsor style motor just got kind of boring for me. I had used aftermarket EFI, coil on plug, crank triggers and such. Just wanted different. I really like the coyote and the 6R80 works very well.

Nice work. Love the story on how your Bronco has changed over the years. I'm on the third iteration of my Bronco and I'm pretty happy with it now - next big work will just be a repaint and some body work to repair some of the dinged/scratched/cracked fiberglass skins.

I'm amazed at how many engine/tranny combos you have had installed! That is one thing on mine that has been pretty constant. One reman 302 swap early on and then just a Mustang EFI upgrade. Still running the original C4/D20 combo but I have added a doubler. I'd love to do a Coyote but I may save that for my 78!

You're gong to have a very rig when your done - can't wait to see it in Grabber Blue!

I hear ya on trying different stuff. :) Waaay cool combo's. Nice to see someone else that's tried so many different combo's in the same Bronco! I have a Coyote in my truck and I am just not overly impressed. Interesting to hear you seem to like it better than your stroker combo's. .
I think they'd do well with a blower. They pull nice above 4500. Like your build thread for sure!

I like different combo's too.
My small blocks all in the same '68 running different carbs, ProJection, stockish Mass Air, Qtrhorse, EDIS, etc I enjoy learning new stuff and trying it.
