Based on the responses, it looks like everyone would prefer Saturday. I'm thinking that we will do this on Saturday, June 21. I hope the weather calms down. WE have had afternoon storms off and on for the past several weeks. It never rains in early June. But this year appears to be a new way of business with the weather. It's acting like late summer. Mt. Taylor is an, uh, exciting place during summer rain storms.

The run is this weekend, post up if you are going to make the run. I will be there for sure. UPS is delivering my new axle shafts for my bronco tomorrow and I will be ready to roll.

New Mexico Bronco Trail Run - Mt. Taylor volcano

I'm planning to be there. I plan to trailer the 72 to Grants and stage it there. What time are we meeting?

I think 8:30 at the above indicated meeting place will be fine. We will leave ABQ a little after 7AM. At 75 mph, we usually get to Grants in a little over an hour. The 76 loves driving on I-40 at speed. Funny, last time we had it out was at the ABQ Museum car show. A multi-purpose Bronco.
The trail is not long, so we will have plenty of time to poke along and enjoy the scenery. Weather looks like it will be good, if hot. Summer solstice, too. Good time to be at 11,000 feet.

The 'Big Brown Truck' went by my place without even slowing down today so my bracket didn't make it in:( We will have to try again.

I'm going to wear out the tires after I get it done, preferably with others, alone if I have to. I'm getting tired of missing these trips due to parts. This time was totally my fault tho.

Jim, bummer. We will have to see if we can do one of the other trails sometime in the future. There are dozens to choose from. I usually work an area over until it is like commuting. Use up all the options, and then move on to another area. Sometimes come back to favorites. I like the scenery. The Bronco is just a means of getting there with "margin" in case things get knarly.

Well, we just got back to Albuquerque and here are the first pictures. It was a nice clear, dry day. Everybody had a wonderful time and saw some great scenery while exercising the horses a little bit. At about 9500 feet DesertRider was having carb issues and had to turn around. Meanwhile the rest of us struggled up the side of a cinder cone at 10,000 feet and saw a heard of wild horses. While were struggling up, Wes (ponypower) spied a rock right there on the climb and had to teach it a lesson, at 10000 feet!

The picture file names at the bottom of each image are descriptive:
