David Freiberger writes a nice tribute to his hero Rod Hall in the October issue of Hot Rod magazine. His column “Finish Line” appears on the last page of each issue.

Just read that the other day...

Never met the Man himself, but back in the 90's his son Chad gave a 4-wheel drive class to a couple of the crews in my Fire department. Crew cab 4wh drive F450's with 300 gallons of water and pump. When we started the field training he asked if anyone wanted to go first? I raised my hand and he jumped in to ride shotgun. After we finished the course, he said not your first time I am guessing. Nope, I said and my Dad's truck had the scars to prove it. He said I have similar stories with my Dad's rig(s) ;D
