Howdy,
Have anyone here seen a rig with the roadster mirrors on the door. The only one I've seen is in this photo.
I've been working on my rig to reflect this photo. but have not decided to go with the door mounted mirrors.

I have seen 66 wagons and half cabs with the "66 style roadster mirrors" on them....they look great and when they are mounted on the doors you can actually see out of them pretty good vs them being mounted on the fenders.....RoadsterU13.com is a good source of perfect reproduction mirrors of this style (I ran these on my roadsters when I had them)...I would go for it as I think it is a great look for a stock 66!!!
Post up pics if you end up doing it!!

Funny you bring this up. I have been looking at how to install the 53-66 f100 slot

mirrors into the bronco doors. I don’t care much for the new bullet versions, but wouldn’t mind the classic plane Jane white ones.

That's exactly why mine ended up on the roadster inserts. When it came time to mount the mirrors, I sat in the driver's seat while my wife positioned them where I can see them.

The roadster mirrors from RoadsterU13.com are nice, but expensive. I'll stick to my roll bar mounted mirrors until I get a soft top.

You are correct, the mirrors are not cheap....but that being said they are just about perfect to the originals that cost WAY more IF you can find them.....
I ran the repos on both of my roadsters when I had them and kept the originals on the shelf....they were sold with the trucks and the new owner was able to decide what they wanted to do with them....
Either way I am a fan of the roadster style mirrors on the 66 wagons and half cabs.....I have set of the old school Ford round head mirrors like in the pics above to put on my 74 camper Bronco.....I dig the old school mirrors!!!;D

What month build is your 66? I noticed it has the eyebrow grill, but also twin tanks.
