I've got another thread going on street tires for a stock rig, but this promps some questions on the stock rims -

I've got 8 stock rims to choose from and I was going to just choose the best 4 to use. (My spare is still on the original stock rim, I think!) Four of the 8 are riveted and 4 are welded. When did Ford change from riveted to welded? What other differences are there for "early" rims compared to later rims? Any stamping, marking or other differences?

These will be going on 74 Ranger. When I got the Bronco it had 4 white rims (wimbeldon white I think) but the spare was on a sillver (argent) rim. Is this the way a Ranger came stock?

TIA

my 74 base model had welded stock rims. It had the original hubcaps showing 30 some years of duty.

Interesting replies - I wonder if Ford used both riveted and welded at the same time from different suppliers? Maybe there is no "transition" year?? Anybody know for sure?
