now every nut’n bolt can be bought I see ‘factory style front lic. bracket"
On my several I all ways see 2 holes in our 1 piece grill bellow the driver's
hdlght (I believe, @ least on that end) I assumed was for the plates. They
say this is for the bumper.
Any details on the 2?
Never remember any extra holes on the bumper for the vendor supplied
or any remnants there or on the grill for a plate...
Thank you~

My 74 Ranger has the factory bumper bracket. I don't have a photo of the bracket itself but this pic shows where it mounts the plate.

that really helps Scoop. Thank you.
Any time we have these ‘relics’ (well preserved, un modded original rigs) in any of the vehicle
Y/M/M it helps the entire field and even less interested parties SEE / Experience ‘what it was'
at nother time.
Thank U Scoop & F.Man, I’ll look again for ‘square holes'. NOW (dot, dot, dot)
Y do all our rigs have the 2 round holes over near the driver’s light, in our grill?
("Square” makes sense as that era had the plastic inserts w/threaded 'receiver’).

I said that. What R they for? A 2nd plate? The square on the bumper take the plastic ‘push-ins’ internal threads for screws I use stainless. The “bracket” mentioned in post one, also placed there, but these round seem to B on all ‘grills’ below/or near the driver’s side headlight.

The factory bumper bracket came with carriage bolts. That’s the reason for the square holes in the bottom of the bumper. The holes in the grill are for mounting a tag if you have a front winch, need a second plate, or for some reason choose to not use a bumper mounted plate.

one thing w/these rigs (Y I ask) is all 3, 4 have not hada bumper/I chucked it early in rest0mod/sales
or ownership.
It looks like the bumper accomidation is near the grill location.
Both round and square holes seem to take the ‘push-in’ plastic
‘license plate nut' (if right sized. I have a few sizes in the ‘colection
box'. Most today I just use sheet-metal screw into plastic bumper
cover. The square (bumper) location, as above, can use a proper
carrage bolt. I didnt mean to make such a deal out such a pittance
here. Thnx ~

Just to clarify a little, and keep this thread going.
The square holes are underneath the bumper in the bottom of it. They are in the center of the bumper, and are used to install the bracket, not to install the tag.
