When to install sway bars? Poll.

If you were starting a build with a bare frame when would you install front and rear sway bars?

  • As part of the suspension install before the weight of the engine and transmission are on the frame.

  • After the engine and transmission are on the frame but before the body.

I'm uncertain if it matters how much weight should be on the frame and suspension components before the sway bars should be installed.
Thanks for the help

I would say it is part of checking clearances to make sure they clear everything. But doesn't matter when. Unlike some suspension parts (rubber leaf spring bushings and rubber track bar bushings) the sway bar bushings are not locked in and binding as the suspension moves.
