I've been patient long enough. I payed and you deposited $100 for a carb w/ shipping 14 days ago and I have still not received anything from you. No carb, no response to my requests, nothing.

Does the carb have all the parts and peices on it?

How much?

Shipping to 72173

craigellis77 responded:
If it's missing anything, I don't know what it is. I had the carb rebuilt and ran it for about 2 years. It has an electric choke.

I can do $100 shipped.

Received MO no problem...I goofed though. Threw the envelope away and deposited MO. So, I need your address again! I think I've lost my mind.

Thanks,
Craig

I responded the same day...

Glad you got the MO. My address is...

Chad Halsted
22 Ruby June Street
Vilonia, AR 72173

I haven't heard anything else from him. I've sent two more PMs with no response. He's logged in since, and has failed to respond.

I understand you just started a new job, but that's no excuse because I know for a fact that you had at least $100 to pay for the shipping.

I sent you the $100 just the way you wanted (PO Money Order), and now I expect you to hold up your end of the deal. Either send the money back or send the carb!!

Yeah, I'm not doing this money order crap anymore. If you don't have paypal, then I'll find someone else.

Thanks for the number Alan, I'll give that a shot.

No answer, left a message.

Bump for ya. Maybe you should explain who Charlie Wenzel is to this guy. If you don't know, google that name, grab a case of beer & start reading. GOOD stuff. This is almost exactly how Mr. Wenzel's demise began.

+1

I had some major landscaping done at my house and 2 contractors were out of contention immediately because they didnt take PayPal or credit cards. Its real easy to factor in overhead, such as credit card fees, into a bid.

The shop for 1 of my cars charges 2.5% if you use PayPal. Thats fair and I have no isssues paying it.

Bummer on the experience. The $100 carb probably is costing you another $100 of your time.

Yeah this sort of thing is real unfortunate, and preventable with just some basic communication.

It really sucks, but then...

I am presented with people like NYLES, who just the other day gave me, free of charge, and shipped, free of charge, a set of stock manifolds that I was looking for. What a guy! Later we decided I had a few parts he might need later on, so we did a little "swap".

I don't let this stuff get me down, because there's a lot of really honest and caring brothers on here.

I just seem to be having bad luck on here.

Just read.......Bump for you. That sucks. I may have a couple stock 2 BBL carbs lying around if you just want to throw me a few bucks to box up and ship. You will need to go through them as the last time they were run was about ten years ago or so. I can ask a couple buddies also. Not sure what you need. Let me know. - DB69

I hear you and I agree, I don't think he's intentionally scamming me either. I went through and read his ebay feedback, 100% positive. I think he's probably going through a rough time, and I understand that. Hell, I live in rough times most of the time.

Like I said, the $100 was for the carb + shipping, so all he had to do was box it up and take it to UPS. It's been 14 days since he deposited my money, and I feel like I'm gettin shafted.

I still have faith that he will pull through, but I wouldn't suggest anybody else buy anything from him until he's got things straitened out, that's all I'm saying.

The other part is that I am in a bit of a hurry here, I got stuff to get done before OCBR, and that's one of them. That's why I went shopping for a carb 3 weeks ago.

I appreciate your offer, but I will wait and give craig some more time. If not, then I may just rebuild mine and try and find the parts it is missing from you (Electric Choke stuff). Thanks!!

If, you decide to take matters further......

Some info that most people don't know!

Since you purchased the Money Order from the Post Office
you should send a letter stating that since he has taken your money and
not given you your item, consequences await him.

Unlike any other generic mo, you purchased yours from the PO
and it is a Federal Office which results in a FELONY on anyone who
cashes it without providing product. If he can't provide reciept proving
that he sent item to your address. Deep doodoo he is in.

Not only can you get your money's' back, he can go to prison as well.

Damn Govt' Office......Gotta love em'.;D

Good luck
Don
