didn't have any problems removing the old defroster hoses. replacing them has proven to be a bit more trouble.

anyone have suggestions or tricks of connecting the hoses to the defrost vents? I thought of loosening the screws holding the vents in. any reason this wouldn't work?

I don't know what loosening the screws will gain for you. I replaced mine with some hoses from LMC and it was a pain. I had the radio out (which helped alot) and was laying on my back. The hoses were stiff but fit well and are really durable. I also had the glove box out so I had multiple access point for my hands.

I didn't remove the glove box, but I need remove the heater controls & radio. I think removing the passenger seat / glove box would be the best option. I had the drivers seat out but the pedals were in the way.

I have one in and noticed a tear in my other one. I'll have to order that and get it replaced.

This is is a pain in the butt job.....

I think God is punishing you for leaving TX....IMHO ;D
I am convinced of this everyday... ;D

So, O'Reilly Auto had the air duct hoses in stock in bulk. more expensive per foot than LMC or others. After shipping etc. probably was about the same. It's 47 this morning and blowing out of the north. I am motivated more than ever to put the heater back in...

I am using hose clamps to secure the hoses to the defrost vents. I don't want to repeat this process because the hose came loose.

The hoses from the vendors are the correct length and have clamps built into them. You have shot yourself in the foot by going the oreillys route.

I got mine from LMC. They required cutting to length, which I should have measured twice, cut once. They went in relatively easily. Radio was removed. Now water does not run down my defrost ducts into my radio.
