Vintage Ford Hubcaps - What Vehicle?

These would look cool on an EB, especially a half cab, but I think they might be too small. Anybody know what vehicle they were used on back in the day?

I love those things. I have 10 of these. They really do look cool on an early bronco, I just haven't got mine finished yet so you have to wait to use them so it won't look like I copied you. I just typed in ford hubcaps when I did my searches. I bought mine from 3 different auctions and I have 4 different colors. I do not know what they came on but some one said they were used on late 50s early to mid sixties thunderbirds, pickups, and lower cost sedans. I only have about $80 including shipping in them. They are not very popular with hot rodders, or even restorers because they were not used on top of the line vehicles.

They are hard to cut to fit the front hubs through. You end up cutting right through the middle of the ford script. Looks kind of tacky. I cut mine on a lathe and I may go back and use body filler to erase the half letters. I have seen one ford truck from the sixties with 4WD that had these on it and the caps were cut right through the Ford script and painted that same creme color you have there. I do not know if they are original to that truck, but the paint went all the way arround the edge.

I know of at least 5 colors; creme; light puky sort of olive green, red, black, and a light blue. At least I a pretty sure they were factory I know the red, green and creme for sure are factory colors.

I found the best way yo find them was to just type ford hubcap and deal with all the other stuff you don't want. Most of the people selling them don't know what they came off of either.

There are several of those ford caps from that time period that really do look cool one steel wheels and tall skinny tires. I hope to get mine on the road soon, right now I am going to alter 16" steel wagon spoke wheels to accept these caps. I like 16" tires and wheels, and I can't find a decent set of ford 16" wheels with 5 on 5-1/2 spacing. Stockton wheel is just too expensive. Otherwise I would have pictures to show you.

ford caps

I just remebered I had some pictures of mine and some other styles.

I really like all of these, #1 is a nice fit for a cut out for the hubs.

The last two 5&6 are mine.

Hey thats not the saqme cap. MAn am I a dufuss. The cap you are looking at is pidcture #1 and 3. they work great with the cut out.

Thanks for posting those. I think the pic I posted is the same style as your pic #1, just with the cream color.

They came off a 1957 T-Bird & Fairlane . My brother-in-law has an NOS set he got in '57 & still has them .

The hubcap in Orange Crush's photo is a one-year version used on the 1957 Ford Ranchero.

However, the F-series pickups used a different "bottle cap" hubcap from 1957 to 1965.
