Just rolled a '66 into the garage stall-

Posted it up here in May from something I saw on Craigs List:
http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161627

Passed on it for $4000, but accepted his new price a week ago after weeks of bartering (;D)

Check out the paint shine under all the scuz!

Welcome to the '66 club! Now you just need to park it in the garage for 6 years and do nothing with it. Wait. That's my M.O.

I do believe that was the original color of my U13. Love that color.

What are the plans? Full resto? Resto-mod?

I've been in the club several times ;D.

Plans:
Story is- this came out of Washington, sold to someone in MN, then sold again to someone in MN...... then sold to me.
The Washington plates are from '78........ guessing it needs major work. I'd like to get it running as-is, and just drive it.

Back-up plan:
Bought a running '74 with all the goodies...... might do a heart transplant.

Allow me a second to remove foot from mouth.

From the looks of it, it had a better life than it would have growing up in Virginia and NC.

I think a little work and some patience and you've got yourself one very nice cruiser that'll lead to lots of stories from the old timers you meet.

Buff that oxidation out, and drive it.......:)

That is the plan-

Here are some 2-Tone pictures(;D), and some single tone. It's looking more presentable by the day.

Have the new starter in and spinnin'. Just waiting for an order from JBG ariving tomorrow, and I hope she sparks!

Now- what to do with the wheels. I'm having a very hard time shellin' out the $$$ for stock '66 caps :p.

That Bronco looks almost exactly like mine- except for mine is a half cab and somebody hasn't gotten off their lazy butt to buff mine out yet.

Nice find!

Yes, the 66 caps are getting up there on price!

I have seen a few 66 guys paint the wheels back to a stock white and some kind of old school Ford dog dish caps on. With fresh white on the bumper and wheels with chrome/polished aluminum dog dish caps. It should came off look really good with out spending blowing the bank on just 66 caps and chrome 66 bumpers!

Once again nice solid 66 project!;D

I've never been a fan of the '66 caps. I love the look of a stocker with that thin, aggressively treaded tire and a plain jane steel wheel.

I was on a dentside kick a few years back (and still am to an extent). If I ever get the opportunity to build another one, it will be with the plain steels and the thin tires.

Nice find.
Looks like you have one of the odd 66 hoods that has the center brace that only goes as far back as the windshield loop.

No matter what your plans, the main thing is to put another one back on the road and out of the pasture. I know I enjoy mine. Good find.
