Have any of you have had great success with a lower quarter replacement? I've seen pics of some Broncos and could tell that it's had a replacement. I was curious how many of you have installed an aftermarket replacement and it look factory.

You are welcome to look at my build pics on my face book profile, I was not happy at first with the shape of the replacement rear quarters, especially the taper at the rear. After some trimming I think they look factory. http://m.facebook.com/?_rdr#!/brian...9510766168.26989.1781273909&__user=1781273909

The aftermarket parts are not exactly the same as the originals. The body line at the top of the panel doesn't have exactly the same amount roll to it, the back of the fenders seem to have too steep of an angle compared to the factory fenders. After my body guy finished with them though I think overall they look good.

I'm interested in this also. I'm about to weld/ adhesive mine in this weekend. I already prime red the wheel tub side. I fought with the lower fender angle also and to do some cutting and rewelding. Now I'm wondering if I should try to address the roll at the top. It looks ok on the tail light housing but not at the door. Anybody tackle this? I was thinking about clamping a pipe at the body line and try to roll the panel over a little bit. I'm concerned with shrinking the overall vertical height of the panel though after I have the rest of it fitting ok.

There's a few threads on here about it.
I replaced mine http://www.classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=87857

not too detailed sorry. It was difficult but fun at the same time

Hard to make it look factory though. When I did mine, all the replacement quarters were made in China, so there are gaps that have to be dealt with.
Not sure if Dynacorn (sp?) makes replacement quarters, but if they do, I'd go with them.

It seems to me the quarter panels would be a lot easier if you're going to put fender flares back on. The fit issue on the lower part by the taillight housing would mostly get cut off unless you're going uncut again.

I'm in the process of doing mine, so far the drivers side seems to be a good fit as I've roughed it in. I'm redoing the entire side (inner fender, outer fender, rockers, both door posts, and quarter) so I am mocking everything up and then I'll put the top and windshield back on before doing any final alignment and then tack it all in. Major job..

Hey Jimmy,
I put a new taillight section and quarter on "Coop". It had been hit on the taillight section and it pushed everything forward. We pulled everything back and removed the quarter and installed the new one without a hitch. I was really amazed at how well it fit. The top seam I welded from inside the tub so it looked like the original spot welds.

Dennis, where did you get the quarter and taillight section from? Another thing is determining who makes the best reproduction ones.

Heck, if I can do it, anyone can do it.

http://classicbroncos.com/forums/showthread.php?t=205106

I just followed everyone elses example on here and it came out fairly nice. We drilled holes from inside the bed and spot welded the top portion of the lower quarter to the top. (Hope that makes sense) The hardest part was the tailight housing, but that's because this thing had been wrecked. I bought my parts from TBP. You can do it!
