I know these are extremely hard to find in good condition. Has anyone tried to repair one that has a couple small tears?? Is it even possible? If so what products and methods are used?

i tried on mine after it ripped pulling it out of the roadster.. i used a plastic welder that is normally used to repair canoes and the like... no good.... backing fabric and gorilla glue.. no good.. got with a guy that repairs assembly line rubber belts on conveyers.. he said not worth the money in the special glue to fix..... i just said oh well my loss.. sad thing is.. it was almost perfect sitting in bronco... pulling it out killed it... best of luck

Yeah... The one I'm talking about has 1 spot on the passengers side. Hopefully it's not really frail. I also thought about the plastic welder. Glad to get feedback before wasting money. Maybe some nice electrical tape would work!! Haha

What about a tire patch on the back side of the rubber mat. Has anyone tried this to help hold it together.

I have used 3M windshield glue to patch rubber door seals and various other things over the years. It may be worth looking into.

I jus wish an American company would repop this.

What about carpet tape? I've seen that stuff hold a carpet seam together for yrs.

Silicone spray works pretty well to soften door seals and will probably help loosen the mat up too.
