Well it all started when I was selling some steel wheels on FB, and a guy came to look at them. He was super nice and was telling me about his '77 and a 1968 that he had, and it was a great conversation.

Towards the end of the conversation he mentions to me, "you know, I may just sell one of the Broncos". He asked if I was interested and honestly, I hadn't been looking for one, but my interest was piqued. He told me about it, and said he'd shoot me some pictures. He sent me pictures that day or a day later and made me a great offer on it. It was kind of a gamble and there is a lot to do - pretty much everything, but I just felt like I needed to do it. So we struck a deal.

Then a few days later he tells me that he is selling his '68, uncut, rust free with no motor or trans in it. Needs fenders and assembly of course.

So I bought that.

Anyways, here is the first one that came off the trailer. 1977, produced in June actually. Trying to figure out which way to go with it. This one is for the wife, and so I am ditching the medium blue metallic for Jade and going for the Ranger stripe package. Also going to switch from 3 speed to C4. I've never switched power trains on anything so it should be interesting.

The back cut outs are not done well, so I think I am going to replace the quarters and on and on!

It came with tons of parts, so I am hoping nothing crazy comes up.

Should be fun! Let's see how far I chase this rabbit hole!

Thanks! I am pretty excited! I can't wait to get the other one in as well and see what that one will look like.

Both are going to take a ton of work, but building what I want and doing it the way I want is going to be a lot of fun.

Sometimes you have to go backwards to go forwards. The inner fenders were pretty mangled, so I pulled it out, degreased and power washed it for a few hours and then pulled the core support and inner fenders off. Might as well do it while it is in this state!

Found a few suprises as well, further reinforcing the fact that Im going to need to learn to weld!

What color jade are you going with? An actually year correct light, medium or dark jade or something off of a modern car?

This is for my wife and I told her the only criteria is that it had to be a period correct color, and she chose light jade and wants jade interior or ginger interior. The goal is to make it look like a ranger model with the white bottom paint.

Something like the medium poly like this is my favorite, but we may go light Jade.

Good luck with your Jade Babe! Here's a few more pictures of an original Medium Jade Poly Ranger, the one that you posted the picture of. The last picture is the original owner which is my cousin.

Definitely thanks for posting more of it!
You know, it's one of those "stupid" seventies colors that would not have worked on 99% of the vehicles out there. But on a Bronco? Fantastic.
And on a Bronco Ranger? Perfection!

And since it's a relatively late-build '77, you should find that thread I think is around here where they're tracking down the last '77's. I know yours is not at the very end, but it's close enough to maybe make that thread of interest.

How come I never see you on FB when I'm calling out a '77 Y code... it's either Drew or I razzing each other.
