Super Celebration first timer observations

First my background

I'm an ole f@rt 60ish
Owned my bronco for last 25 years, second owner same family (uncle's)
Driven first 12 years, parked it till 2017
Restoration started 2017, drive able Dec 2019 (are they ever complete?)

Observations

1. Bronco drivers, like their broncos, come in all ages, shapes, sizes, conditions and all are well lived and loved!

2. Super Celebration is a great family event. Many generations represented and a bunch of pets too!

3. Next year, I will come earlier and stay until the end.....arrived too late Wednesday, left early Saturday morning as I only saw a 1/3 of the broncos. I like to look and hear their stories. Plus I want to fish the rivers!

4. The organization and frequency of the rides is great, I only made one this year, but that keeps me coming back for more!

5. I like the idea of no alcohol sales, not against a drink, but not needed especially if promoting the drives

Observations and, if needed, enhancements (my 2 cents with my idea of a solution).

6. Event map would be great prior to the event. As a first timer, I was a bit confused about the location for everything especially trailer parking, I was the idiot or one of them who attempted to bring a trailer up to the bronco only area. A volunteer at the bottom of the hill would have kept me out and could direct/block traffic for the rides! Maybe get the chamber of commerce or another local organization to sponsor and promote other local business. Place it on the registration site and/or registration acknowledgement email. There will be many more newbies in the coming years.

7. A couple of identifiable wifi hotspots (hint to Ford), one in the swap area and other in the main, again sponsored (again Ford). Only reason is no cell service for me and a few others I met.

8. Vendor map, with the new Bronco showing up in 2022 there will be even more vendors and people, call it a dry run for the future. Again it could be pdf

9. Food vendors, what about offering to place 1 or 2 in the swap area. I know the was a new baby issue with one of the food trucks, but if you could place a couple over in the swap area it might disperse the people and give the vendors a bit more foot traffic!

10. Would be nice to see more clubs, websites, events etc... with hospitality/information tents that promote (if allowed)..... Or a general info tent with bins that do the same.

Again these are enhancements to me and none of these being done would stop me from coming especially since I've been there once now!

I cannot say enough good things about the people I met this week and all those great broncos. Hope all goes well and I get to see you next year.

Those are all good ideas I suppose but, for me at least, I hate to see it change.....but I knew it would.

It was my first time too. I told my wife it was the most coolness ever in one spot lol. I was impressed with the politeness of everyone.

I agree, a map posted online would have been a help for first timers. I was a bit lost at first until I had wandered around for a while, but exploring was half the fun I guess.

Things I would have done different.

1. Allotted more time. It was a spur of the moment thing for me, so I drove 7 hours on Thursday. Got there early afternoon and stayed until Friday about noon then headed home.

2. Taken a chair.

3. Asked more questions and bothered more Bronco owners.

4. Gone with someone.

Next year I hope to have my own Bronco to take and will be there for the whole thing. Already looking forward to it.

My 1st time as well, I had my family in tow, my son's 19 and 17 enjoyed it a lot. I didn't have my Bronco with me this time, I will bring it next year come heel or high water. I was blown away with all the Bronco and the amount of things I could buy for my Bronco ( glad I didn't bring much cash). Townsend is a cool little place, I agree with Remos69 I really don't know what Townsend had to offer to me some information from Townsend it's self would have been neat. I know there was a Bronco ride around the town but for those who didn't have their Bronco with them it would have been cool to know where to go and see different stuff of the town. This being my 1st time I have nothing to compare it to, but I really liked it being in October, the scenery was prefect but it's always raining in the fall around Tennessee. On the hunt for a car trailer so I can bring my EB next go around.

Drove mine 6hrs for my first SC this year. It was awesome...

I would like to see a row of original paint broncos next year.... It'd be awesome if we can get them all in one or two rows together...

1st time and enjoyed every minute. Met some great folks and saw some beautiful Broncos. I wanted em all! If I could suggest anything I would second the WiFi hotspots and then maybe a PA system to keep everyone informed of on-goings. Maybe pipe in some music during the day or even some live entertainment would be cool. Great show, I’ll be back.

I'm with you. I like it the way it is. I go to a lot of car shows that are TO organized. I like the laid back do what you want atmosphere of Super Cell. I sure don't want the music!!! It's a classic show not a concert. JMO

We towed Sheyla's 73 back from Super Cel West on a u-haul car trailer. It's got 33s. It actually fit perfect.

Jim
Thanks Jim, that's probably the route I'll have to take. It's clear I need new friends cause none of them have a trailer I can borrow. Taking applications for new friends, PM me for more information.
