• Be EXTREMELY cautious if someone offers to buy your Bronco for more than your asking price and sight unseen. ESPECIALLY if the buyer is overseas. It's probably a scam.

***TRAIL DAMAGE SALE — PRICE REDUCED BY $10K***

’74 Ford Bronco Rock Crawler — Built to Beat Gravity (and Your Friends’ Expectations)

Alright, let’s be honest. This isn’t a six figure “Sunday cruiser” or a “classic restoration.”
This is a 51-year-old chunk of Detroit steel that’s been cut in half, stretched 17 inches, stitched back together, and told to climb things most people would call cliffs. Basically, a steel mountain goat with trust issues.

If that sentence didn’t scare you off — congratulations, you’re my kind of crazy.

Here’s what you’re actually looking at:

Strong re-man 5.0L roller motor with throttle-body injection (can convert to propane if you’re into hissing fuel tanks)

5-speed manual / NP241 Strongbox / built D20 — 125:1 crawl ratio — walking speed for humans, cheating speed for mountains

4Link rear / 3Link front with 14” Fox Bypass Coilovers — expertly dialed in to keep you planted when gravity says no — buggy articulation on a full body rig

111” wheelbase (up from the original 92”, because physics matters)

Custom 609 axles, trusses, 35-spline chromo shafts, full-float rear, 5.13’s & Grizzlies

39 Reds on beadlocks plus an unmounted spare, PSC ram assist and discs all around with hydro boost, functional hand brake

Front and rear winches plus a suck-down — in cab controls — because falling off a cliff isn’t funny, but saving your buddies sure is

Onboard air, onboard welder, full set of spare driveshafts (Tom Woods) plus lots of other spares — full complement of recovery gear, go bags and field repair tools, 20lb Power Tank kit — everything needed to get you off the trail — AKA fix your buddies sh!tboxes on the trail

Extremely low CG — looks sketchy as hell, but it sticks to lines that make other rigs flop

Corbeau suspension seats w/ harnesses (driver seat is heated)— rear Fold & Tumble seat

Full roll cage, partial exo cage, and sliders all tied to each other and to the frame — face it, we’re doing dumb sh!t

Permanent full-length Aluminum Bimini top

Dual batteries w/ master cutoff switches — 6 switch pod panel with relay bank — 270 amp alternator (custom made for me by PPW)

Tubular trail doors / HD skid plates — all the beef all the time

This thing has more geometry in it than my high school nightmares. Every angle, link, and weld has a reason behind it — and I’ve got the 4-Link Calc data (designed with the help of a pro Ultra4 builder), a comprehensive build thread w/ photos from first cut to present day — To prove it wasn’t just beer-fueled guesswork (well, not entirely anyway).

💰 I’m asking $24K for the full setup — Bronco with all spares, tools and recovery gear / a customized 16’ dovetail 10K trailer (that’s been modified and hardened just for the Bronco — recent bearing and brake service, G rated tires plus two spares)
👉 Or $22k for just the Bronco as-is if you’ve got your own way to haul bad decisions.

Let’s be real — it’s more capable than I am, and probably more than you too. But it’ll make you grin like a maniac every time you point it at something stupid and somehow drive up it anyway. It is a real deal point and shoot rig.

I’ve got tons of photos, documentation, and proof that this thing is both functional and slightly unhinged. Might deliver it if you promise not to die or polish it. This Bronco needs a driver, not a detailer. Beat it, fix it, improve it. —

Bring cash, courage, and a taste for chaos.

***DAMAGE SALE ACT NOW BEFORE I FIX IT***
As seen in photos, windshield frame needs to be straightened and new glass (does a crawler really need glass?); rear Grizzly Locker needs to be replaced (axle shafts are fine); drivers side front stub shaft or locker broke, U joints and inner appear to be fine. I haven't dug into is yet. This is as is, once I start repairs it will just back up. The repair is maybe $5k if you hired someone to do it... This is a steal for anyone who wants to get into a beast of a crawler.

RUNS AND DRIVES JUST FINE.

I'm willing to entertain some partial trades ︻デ═一 Pew Pew 😉

I mean honestly, I am not seeing any damage here?

The visible damage is the windshield frame and windshield on passenger side.

Is it easy to fix? Not easy, but very doable.
Is it necessary? Not for a crawler.

The rear Grizzly Locker popped. The passenger’s side spins freely with no noise or shards, the axle shaft is fine. I think the center cam split in two. Quite possibly it’s just a matter of replacing a part instead of the whole locker.

The front driver’s wheel spins freely now, it made the axle screaming sound, but the u-joints at the knuckle are intact and spin while driving (wheel not moving). I suspect that it’s the stub shaft or the locker that blew.
Again, not a big deal.

I reduced it by $10k because I don’t feel like fixing it for the 2-3 rides it sees a year. I’d guess the repairs at $5k tops if you had a shop do it all.
Maybe $2k in parts if you bought a complete 3rd member instead of fixing it.
It’s the deal of a lifetime if you’re in the market for a crawler. It’s a beast and a crowd pleaser. It has never left me stranded on the trail, it’s always driven out under its own power, and I wheel the hell out of it when I do take it out.

And like the ad says, I can be talked into delivering it. I’d far prefer to hand it off proper and explain all the little things Longhorse likes and wants.
