I’ve had a lot going on, so no shop time for me in the last few days. I should be back at it this weekend.

Dad on the other hand, has been busy on Timber! Driver side floor is in!

Dad is putting me to shame. Not much shop time for me lately, but I did help him some this evening lining up the new inner fenders and core support, and test fitting panels. He’s got it pretty close to being ready to weld up now.

He’s also got both front floor pans welded in.

I’ve had some unexpected things come up, plus a trip out of town for our fire department, so not a lot of time invested for me. Back at it soon though

Well as some of you have seen, I added another to my fleet!

I’ve been wanting a K Bar S build in the collection for years, and after a lot of conversations, negotiation, and time I sealed a deal on Dust Devil.

Special thank you to @Passauf (Tony Becherer) for trusting in me to care for it and selling it to me, @markatherton for picking it up for shipping as well as sending pictures and helping with the deal, Ken Youngblood and his son Michael for lots of discussion about the build and other K Bar S history!

All that being said, I will be parting with some to clear some space and rebuild the funds. The tan 70 U14 is in the classifieds, and the white 67 Military is soon heading to California.

Since Super Celebration I’ve been extremely busy with work, family, and putting the deal together for Dust Devil so my time in the shop has been very minimal. I hope to start back on Brownie this weekend or next week. Green Acres will be coming in for tear down soon as well!

Are those Stroppe fenders he's fitting up?

Life lately has been extremely busy, but I’ve managed to get some Bronco time in!

First off, I did sell the 67 Military, the tan half cab, and Boxwood 69. My interests have changed, and shop space was cramped. Also it provided funds for other builds that’ll be starting very soon!

Dust Devil had a mysterious tick in the engine when I got it. To be perfectly honest, I’m still not certain what it was, but after having the head reworked and us reinstalling with a new gasket it went away. The machine shop said they didn’t find anything in the head, so who knows. 🤷🏼‍♂️

It was very under geared for my liking, so with some help from Dad it was swapped to 4.57/4.56 also. Big improvement!

As some of you saw in the previous for sale ads, it has some fender and flare damage on the driver side front. A local shop repaired and painted the fender and end of the front bumper, and a PDR guy is supposed to address the fender this week.

Also, I picked up a solid 73 Ranger for a future build for my son. I wanted his first to be a Ranger since mine was and it worked out. Yes I bought it way early, but it gives me plenty of time to find good deals on the parts it needs, and they aren’t getting any easier to find with a decent body!

Thanks for the update, Jimmy! And isn't there yet another rig that followed you home a few days ago? :)

Yes, but long story short a good friend of mine came over to the shop and wanted it, so it’s heading to his house soon!

Apparently finding a PDR guy in North Alabama who is reliable and doesn’t cost a country fortune is near impossible! After a local PDR guy flaked on me twice and another giving an outrageous quote, I took Dust Devil to the same body shop that repainted the flare and blended the bumper and just asked if he could make it better.

While there’s still evidence of it and it’s not perfect, it’s definitely a big improvement, which is all I asked for! Very happy with the results considering it’s a body shop and the price was outstandingly reasonable!

Also, I had to drive to an Ace Hardware 40 miles away to find the right size rivets to put the flare back on! Imagine that!

Spent part of the week cleaning it up. It was definitely overdue.

Gave it a good wash, clay bar’d the paint which removed a crazy amount of debris, an coated it in wax.

Also polished the wheels, cleaned the top and faded windows, and more!
