I've been listening to the "You Better Win" podcast, which is focused on the history of Ford Racing and todays episode was largely focused on Stroppe. Not a bad recap, thought you all may enjoy listening to it:

I listened to the first episode a week ago on a drive to CA. I found the hosts annoying but managed to listen to all of it. Listened to the above episode today on my drive home. The main host never once pronounced Bill Stroppe's name correctly and he also mispronounced Donald Frey's name. Some of the history was also incorrect. I've turned into a curmudgeon (or maybe I've always been one), I guess, but I don't think the expectation that names will be pronounced correctly and some basic fact-checking on the history prior to taping an episode would add a lot of credibility in my opinion. The two episodes I've listened to so far might be more popular with the bros, but I'm not impressed. I do a lot of driving so I'll probably listen to all the episodes just because I love Ford racing history. I think Ford did a lot better job with the "Bring Back Bronco" podcast 5-6 years ago.

I thought the Ford V Ferrari episode was interesting comparing the movie to actual events, but I'd agree that there were some disparities in the Baja episode and I did cringe a little when they kept mispronouncing Stroppe's name. I thought the part about him boat racing was interesting, I'd never heard that... but I'm also not a Baja Bronco expert lol. I was interested in your take specifically on the episode, thanks for chiming in

Yeah, the boat racing episode was Stroppe's start. They kept talking about building a boat out of some wood scraps to race and I'm pretty sure that's not what happened. I do plan to listen to the Ford vs. Ferrari episode to see if I like that one better.
