Project 75 came with unmounted rollbar. Don't know if I am going to install or not. Is this worth anything or just the price of a used rollbar

Should be worth a little more than a standard roll bar if left untouched with the sticker in place. But I dont believe that is the stroope roll bar that is really sought after by people who want/need them as the standard stroope roll bar was different.
In any case its not a common stroope roll bar. I have seen that design but not sure if it was stroopes or someone elses. Its not hard to put a sticker on anything. Might want to contact the BAJA bronco guys see what they say. They may be able to tell you for sure and may even know people looking for that particular type.

It's a post-STroppe stroppe bar. Hungus Products, they ended up with Stroppe name circa 75 and were the first to make easily shippable rollbars.

Friend bought one for his Explorer back in '75 that was similar, but with longer rear kickers. Pretty sure it had the Hungus' brand name on it and not a Stroppe decal.
Same crowned main hoop, but otherwise a variation.

Picked it up from a 4wd shop in Santa Cruz at the time.

Thanks Andrew. Always happy to share happy memories when I can work them into a product discussion!;)

For those not familiar with the trail, the first was on the way down to Buck Island Res. (just visible in the background), and the second is about two thirds the way up Cadillac hill. Circa '76-ish.
Stock everything except for the cutouts and tires.

Fun stuff.

Hah! Glad to help keep it young.

And I swear I still don't feel that old! The memory of that trip in particular literally feels like it could have been last year. Until you look at the Armstrong Tru-Trac tires, blue license plates, bone stock Broncos, and young faces staring back at us from the pics.
Every once in awhile, in-between working on some aspect of a Bronco, we'll whip out the old photos for a good-times laugh.

What's really interesting is when I'm hanging out with friends and talking about life, Broncos and the pursuit of happiness, and realize that, while some of those friends in the circle are my age or even older, some could literally be my kids or grandkids! Whoa Nelly and holy schnikeys!

I can relate though...
Going through my dad's color slides makes me painfully aware of the passage of time.
Photo005 (Large).jpg
At Grand Canyon circa late '40's or so. Taking a break from designing and building the Flying Wing for Northrop, and fiddling with a camera as usual.
Photo016 (Large).jpg
Southern California, probably Big Bear circa 1951 (the kid on the right just turned 72!)
Photo034 (Large).jpg
Circa 1966.
And I wonder where I got my love for the outdoors and cars??? ;D
Finding so many images of the family camping when I was so young really brings it back.

Sorry to throw some non-Bronco stuff in there, but that's what's been on my mind and keeping me away from here so much lately.

Thanks. But something just occurred to me for the first time ever. Even talking Bronco for so long, and even relating the story here on CB a few times, it never even popped into my head that there might be photos of my first trip in a Bronco (sometime between '66 and '68). But it's in my head now!

Now I'm on a mission...

Sorry for such a side-segué hubdawg! If I'm lucky enough to find any shots of that, I'll try to keep them out of your roll-bar thread. ;D
But side trips can be so much fun....

Dirtdonk you should start a new thread and start posting them. I have a bunch from the late 70's and on.

Definitely. There's probably even an appropriate thread going as we speak. Just have to put my pics together and find it.

Actually that is a Stroppe rollbar. I have the same one in my Bronco, bought it from a local speed shop back in 1985. Had the same sticker on it for years too until I had it blasted and powder coated. I am sure that is was produced long after the Stroppe Baja Broncos, as they had different kickers, however what is in the picture is just like what I have, and I remember buying it new and the box said Stroppe on it.

Not sure if it is worth anything for being a Stroppe though.

See Pix.

Thanks!

Rich

Thank you,
