Is it possible to swap the lower gears from a D20 T-shift case to a J-shift case? I have one of each. Or since I would have to disassemble the T-shift case anyway, would it be easier to just do the mod for twin stick while its apart?

T shift gears will go into a J shift case.
It is kind of a six of one half a dozen of the other as to which way to choose to go with that.

The front output shaft in the T shift has a snap ring that is a real PITA to work with, if you put the T shift gears in the J shift case you will only need to mess with it once.

Which ever way you do it twin stick it.

Hope there is a really beefy output shaft in those plans as well. Quadrupling the gear reduction before the transfer case makes it easy to make a lot of slow torque.
