Hagerty here as well, and also have never had to file a claim.
One thing I like about Hagerty is they hold monthly cars and coffee events (free) and sponsor/host other car events throughout the year.

I have Hagerty and HAVE filed a claim. Car left in drive rolled out of garage and hit another Bronco, paid without question and very easy to work with.

Two questions:

a. What is the process to get to the "agreed value"

b. How does it compare vs. a main stream insurer like USAA. I am worried in an accident USAA might resort to blue blood despite me having tons of pictures, etc.

I use USAA, they first sent me to their classic car partner but they wouldn't insure me because I actually drive my Bronco off-road and dirt roads. So I called USAA back and they insured me but only for liability after they had to manually force the vin number into their system. I had the same Broncos insured with them previously 10 years ago but their system doesn't take our non 16 digit vins anymore. So I am insured but........

I have my Bronco on my regular auto insurance policy (Allstate in my case). I (ab)use it as a daily driver, so collector car insurance seems like it would be problematic.

Also I only have liability on it. A long time ago I was let in on a little secret: Insurance companies try to turn a profit, and are actually pretty good at it. So on average you'll come out ahead if you don't insure things. Yes, there are some things you can't afford to lose, so you need to insure them: your house, liability against a law suit, medical costs, maybe your car, maybe some others (this wasn't meant to be an exhaustive list). But a toy is something I can afford to lose.

I have agreed value with country financial. Had a claim about a month after getting it on the road, paid with no hassle. After that complete re-paint, got an appraisal and upped my coverage. Nothing Special is right, I don’t “need” this toy, but I do like it and it is pretty cheap to insure it vs what it is worth. If I lost it, I would never buy another one, couldn’t pay the price.
