Ranch hand option

I am sure there are a lot of threads on this subject, but I just have a question if this option would show on a Marti report? I have a 70 Bronco that I have restored that has the ranch hand setup on it and wondered just how rare it is. I am going to get a Marti report but wondered which level I would have to get for it to show up on?

Thanks for any info anyone has on this.

It won't show up on the Marti. The ranch hand is interesting in that I've never seen it mentioned in any Ford sales literature.

The only place I have seen it is in this news release from 1967 for the 1968 model year.

I found it in the 1968 sales brochure. It sort of implies that it is standard with the swing away carrier.

Nice finds! Guess I never paid close enough attention to the '68 PR OR the brochure :). And yeah, makes it sound like it was a standard thing in the sales brochure.

I wish I still had the carrier that my Dad built years ago for ours. You could swing the spare from the back to the side in about 30 seconds if you were slow.

I wondered why that angled bracket that the tire sits on wasn’t welded. Lets you flip it to the other side of the swing arm. Were there any 68, 69, or later that came with the swing arm carrier that did not come with the ranch hand? Or was it a thing to remove and plug the holes like cutting the rear fenders was.

Yeah, some '68 and '69 Broncos had swing arm tire carriers that weren’t part of the Ranch Hand setup. Plus, it’s super common for folks to just take those off and plug the holes

I see them mentioned in the ‘68 press release and sales brochure, pictured in the ‘69 brochure, and then there is no mention of them after that.
They may have been available only in ‘68 and ‘69 and added by dealers or owners on later models. They certainly were not standard with all swing away carriers.

1969 seems to be the most common year for them from the factory, followed by 1968.

My early (vacuum wiper) '69 had the holes in the quarter for it, but was missing.

Anyone have old parts fische? Should be able to look it up year by year. I've done that with newer stuff. Never bothered with old micro film.

I've looked casually through the 65-72 MPC (Master Parts Catalog) but haven't found them there.
