I am almost done with my swap and just need to install my shift controller from US Shift, Quick 4.

Looking for advise on the best location to mount the controller? Glove box, under the hood etc.

Thanks

I wouldn’t put it in the engine compartment

Not great pictures but I mounted mine on the console I built. Momentary switch buttons mounted just below the arm rest. One is OD on/off. The other selects table.

I mounted mine on the inside firewall. But had some issues upfront and needed better access to it, so it ended up on the trans tunnel for now. I am building a console and going to build it into that. I would keep it accessible.

I decided to install it under my dash on a adjustable RAM mount. Easy access and I can take advantage of the information on the display. Ill post up some pictures shortly.

Thanks again.

I will be mounting mine in the console as soon as I have time to design it. I had a temporary mounting plate made up for the time being.

Both look great. I think Ill be happy with my decision to mount it under the dash like you both did.

Mine is mounted on a plate inside of the glovebox. I have 2 momentary buttons and an LED on my console. One button is for OD on/OD off/manual mode, and the other selects tables.

I’m about where you are, looking for a mounting solution. I purchased an under dash cubby from WH with plans to do something along the lines that JSmall did above. I hadn’t thought an]bout the momentary buttons though, it might be too far to stretch.

Bauman/USShift has been alluding (for 1 1/2yrs) to releasing a separate LED read out that could be mounted easily- some place so you can mount it AND read it easily. I have suggested to Kevin and Karl for over a dozen years that they really NEED to come up with a better design. The controller is made so you can make adjustments with the selector knob from inside the cab but it's a TERRIBLE design for mounting since 3 of it's 4 sides has wires coming out of it. :(

Mine has been stuffed into my console for 2 different autos since 2011.

They’ve also been advertising a CAN bus data interface as coming soon for both the Quick 4 and the Quick 6, but I get the impression that it’s not coming soon. It’s too bad because I’m sure I could use this to display the gear, etc. on my Dakota Digital gauges.

I am going to swap from the UShift transmission controller to the HGM Sport Controller. I have never liked where it's mounted and programing and the customer service. The HGM is intelligent and rated to go underwater. So I will attached it somehow to the trans. Then a few control wires to an ECU. Then I don't have to have all the 100s of wires behind my dash.
