Fitting hood latch to new body

Just before Thanksgiving, I picked up my new body from Hot Rods by Haviliks, in Cedar Rapids, IA. I am mocking up a bunch of parts and working on my hood latch assembly. I am trying to remember how it mounts. I have threads in two of the four holes on the latch assembly. Are there two square nuts that slide into the metal on the grille? I did find new hardware that shows u-nuts.

(2) on passenger side slip over tabs on grill (in your photo), one comes from front, other comes from back

How do you like your body from Hotrods by Havliks? I planning on getting a new body at some point and I was curious about the quality of those bodies.

I went and visited the shop last January and saw a new body being built. I asked Jes a lot of questions and they were answered to my satisfaction. I was happy with what I saw and put my order in. I didn’t want my body until Nov/Dec timeframe, so he penciled it in and we kept in contact. When it was time, we went thru all of the options and my body started getting built on Nov. 14th. A week or so later, Jes called and said it was ready. I got it home and have been bolting a few pieces to mock everything up. I am happy with it, knowing there will be some small things to deal with, like any new or used body. You are welcome to make a road trip to my shop and check it out. I think they told me that they have built around 300 bodies in their shop. If I would need another body, I would buy from them again.

Thanks for your response and thoughts on your bronco body. I’m thinking that a body replacement is in the future for my ‘75. I ran across Haviliks website and was curious about them. I’m in NE Kansas and they’re a lot closer to me than some of the others that put together these bodies. It sounds like they were good to work with too as far as scheduling the completion for when you wanted it.
