If you are thinking about purchasing and running the Raybestos 4943R front hubs, please note that there are no bearing knockouts for either the inner or outer bearing races. There was enough of a lip showing of the inner bearing race to knock it out with a sharp edged drift, but the outer was pretty much a no-go without machining. FWIW, the races have no indication as to manufacturer either, which is why I was swapping them out for Timken bearings to begin with. The images below show the before and after machining some knockout reliefs.

Bad on them for not casting in that feature. Good to know!

Did you happen to see my suggestion to Dave when he had a bearing race stuck in some oddball, non EB part? Run a really hot weld bead around the face of the race. Can do it with a MIG (high amp, low feed), but a TIG is easier. When it cools it will literally fall out of the bore it was pressed into.

I can vouch that this works. I think I still have a couple of welded races that I keep around for inserting new ones.
