All looks good except for the 9U98, which is for front bucket seats with a rear seat and wagon top. While that seat combo existed in 66, the actual code 9U98 didn't exist in Nov 66'. You should have a 198, 798, or 698 there. 998 didn't come along until spring of 66' and 9U98 even later. Got a pic of the tag?

The VIN on the data tag matches the VIN on the frame, just FYI! And the silver bucket seats were in there, I assume they are the originals. No rear seat, but doesn’t mean it didn’t come with one.

As crunchy as the kick panel is, I almost think someone sent the info to Marti and had a new warranty plate made, and got the body code wrong. The plate and rivet age doesn't match the kick panel age imo.

Good point! The body was useless, couldn’t even remove it from the frame, had to cut it apart with a sawzall. I think there was as much plywood and 2x4’s holding it together as there was metal!

What do the body codes 198, 698, and 798 equal?

198 is bench seat wagon, 698 is driver's seat only wagon and 798 was front bucket and may or may not have had a rear seat. There wasn't a code for front bucket and rear seat until 67'. If a 66 got a rear seat they just added to the option list on the window sticker.

Appreciate the info and the insight!

This is all correct except for the very few Pony Broncos that débuted in March of '66 and they had interior code of 998 which is pony embossed front buckets and embossed rear bench. The "9U98" does seem like a Marti error and the tag is a Marti repop.
