Looking for some ideas on how folks have mounted an awning to their roll cage, either be it the side or rear. If you've got ideas post up or show some pics! my plans are to have the awning come off the back, covering the tailgate and a little space further.

EDIT: i'm learning to weld, so kinda excited for my first little project. :)

^ appreciate that option, but i'm looking for a topless solution. Maybe some exhaust clamps welded to a bracket of sorts?

I would weld on some tabs for a T bar to attach the awning to. most could be attached to a flat piece of steel or aluminum, but the versatility of T slot bar is nice. If you don't want to weld to the cage, you can use some of these or similar to either weld to or drill and tap to bolt the T slot to. Here's an example of T Slot bar, there are literally hundreds of configurations and sizes.

We use a large patio umbrella , in a stand that slides into the trailer hitch receiver .

If you look close under the tailgate you can see the mount that’s about three feet long sticking out of the trailer hitch

As you can see , this is great for tailgating

This was at our family reunion where my son and I were grilling 60 burgers and 40 dogs
