Ha !

That was a great trophy to win !

And that mirror fell off on the way home from that event I think .

Was that the trophy for :
“ most surprised this thing arrived under it own power ?”

Update ;

Citri strip does soften it up

But it seems the fastest way so far is me using a 14 inch crowbar that’s been sharpened

Sometimes you can get a pretty good peel going

I also tried the multi tool vibratory thing and it might work if I had a flat blade with no teeth on it

But otherwise it’s just extra noise and mess and no faster than shoving a crowbar under it

Update

The Citri strip worked ok on a test spot but has such an awful burnt smell i didn’t use it .

Just using various scrapers to get it off

And here’s some pics of the progress

Door hinge posts were replaced by the previous owner sometime between 1990 and 95 according to the license plate I found buried under bondo in the cowl fender area .

I bought the truck in 95 , that color license plate was used from 90 to 96 in Georgia

Ever seen door hinge posts made from 3/8 plate ?
With the bolt holes made with a cutting torch ?

They are sturdy and actually in the right location or very close so we are just gonna leave em .
And maybe cap them with the repop door post metal .

Got some new metal fitted

Think we are gonna tackle replacing the hinge post too

Was thinking of just leaving it alone but it’s starting to irritate me having such a horrible repair being left behind with all the other new metal going in

Also thinking of trying to remove the beige paint and leaving the origional mint green with all its patina .

Fixing all the dents and dings and having a professional paint job done is definite not in the budget .

found out the DSO for my bronc was Jacksonville Florida, so that explains why it had so much rust when it was only ten years old .
