The original radio in my 1966 bronco does not work. It turns on but there is just a constant static. I would like to keep the original radio if possible. Can the original radio be repaired? If it can, any recommendations on who could look at it?

Wouldn't be speaker with "constant static" but very likely could be antenna related. OP, does static get louder and quieter with volume knob? If so I'd guess radio is working OK but not getting a good signal due to antenna issue. Good luck!

Thanks for the replies. It’s not the speaker. We hooked it up to a new speaker. But it still made constant static noise. Same noise level regardless of volume knob position.

Since volume does NOT change I'd have to suspect the radio itself is the problem. Good luck!

Pick yourself up a copy of Hemming's motor news. There are quite a few radio rebuilders listed in the services section.

I believe they have wax capacitors and they just get old, I couldn’t find any one to repair mine from 1977
