Couple of Dipsticks & Oil Capacity

Owned this 1970 Bronco for almost two years now and something so simple as full oil capacity has been a bit of a mystery. Original 302 V8 with all indications full stock engine, drive train, 3 on the tree, etc. Every oil change including full-size filter the dipstick (C6TE-6750-F) shows Full + with 5 quarts. Always a mystery because my understanding is these engines are 6 quart capacity with full-size filter.

Recently had an opportunity to obtain a stock 1971 302 from a rolled Bronco. Tried the dipstick from that engine (D1TE-6750-BA) which is identical in length and dimensions but shows a quart difference in Add / Full. Couple of pics. Oil pans appear identical and original to the engines. Mystery solved??

I wonder what the difference is between an “F“ and a “BA“ in the Ford dipstick world?
Both are obviously for a truck. An original 66 design for the first one, with a 71 change-up for second one.
But in the Bronco world, theoretically at least, not much changed between 66 and 71 for the V8. Officially both had 6 quart capacities.
I can understand a mistaken, stamping more than anything else. I believe we’ve talked about mistakes on dipsticks before. But the different part numbers makes it more interesting.

Member James Roney does have parts information on this kind of stuff, I’m pretty sure. Do you have any listings Oldtimer?

Neither C6TE-6750-F or D1TE-6750-BA show up in my copies of MPC.
There are numbers close, but none with "F" or "BA" dash numbers.
I do see different lengths for 69, 70, & 71 all in the 302.
