Trying to remove the speedometer and this cable going through the green clip is stopping me. I can’t see where it goes under the dash. I tried pulling the green clip but did not budge. There is always something to make a simple job a pain!

Ok. I’ll look further towards passenger side. Right behind the speedo it goes right into the main harness without a connector.

Stock harness should have a bullet connector near ammeter loop.
And if you run wire in other direction at reassembly, ammeter will read backawards.

For some reason the thick wire for my ammeter is 15” or longer than yours. It goes under the steering column towards the switches. Maybe the bullet is over there.

I think you have a 69 Bronco?

The Black wire disappears into harness, and ends at firewall connector behind fuse panel.
Follow it in other direction and you should find bullet connector with Blak/Yellow stripe wire.
The BK/YE wire disappears into same harness, has splices feeding Ignition switch, light switch, and fuse panel, before ending at the other firewall connector behind fuse panel.
